China's Political-Legal Commission Studies Party Plenum Decisions

Chen Wenqing chaired a meeting of China's Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission on November 2.

The meeting focused on Chinese President Xi Jinping's speech and the decisions of the Chinese Communist Party's fifth plenary session.

The plenum adopted a decision on strengthening strict party governance, which the meeting described as a guiding document for party-building.

The commission said implementing the plenum's decisions must be a major political task for the political-legal sector now and in the coming period.

It called for continued party leadership over legal and security work, alongside a focus on people's needs and efforts against misconduct and corruption.

The stated aim is a more disciplined and capable political-legal workforce that is loyal, clean and responsible.
