Nelson says Jailer 2 will tell its story in a different style

Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth, is scheduled to open in theatres on October 15, 2026.

It continues the story of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the retired police officer at the centre of 2023’s Jailer.

Director Nelson Dilipkumar says the sequel follows immediately after the first film but uses a different storytelling style.

Familiar characters return, while new characters and elements are added.

Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar and Jackie Shroff have limited cameo roles, which Nelson says will fit the story and be entertaining.

The first Jailer earned more than Rs 600 crore at the box office, raising expectations for the follow-up.

The sequel’s next test is whether audiences and box-office results match the success of the first film.
