Jet2 plane briefly leaves runway during landing at Birmingham Airport

A Jet2 flight from Venice briefly left the runway after landing at Birmingham Airport on Sunday afternoon.

The airline said strong winds from Storm Boelo caused the incident.

The aircraft returned to the runway and taxied to its stand.

All passengers disembarked normally, and no injuries were reported in the accounts of the incident.

The storm also brought transport disruption across the West Midlands, including train cancellations after trees fell onto railway lines.

It caused power cuts and led some outdoor sites to close.

Windy conditions were expected to continue, and the National Trust said its Herefordshire sites would reopen on Monday after checks.
