Spain's hydrogen project count falls to 312 from nearly 400
Spain's renewable hydrogen sector has 312 registered projects, down from 399 a year earlier.
The projects cover research, demonstrations and commercial plans across the hydrogen supply chain.
Their potential investment exceeds €25 billion, including more than €3 billion in public funding, compared with €33 billion a year ago.
The figures point to projects being concentrated and reconsidered, rather than proving why the total fell.
Two projects reached a final investment decision in 2026, with combined electrolysis capacity of 400 megawatts.
A further 26 projects, with 3,292 megawatts of capacity, expect to reach that stage by the end of 2027, while the 2030 capacity forecast has fallen to 7,600 megawatts from 13,600 a year ago.
