Corporate travel firm Global Travel Partners enters liquidation

UK- and US-based Global Travel Partners has entered liquidation and suspended all services after 15 years of operations.

The company arranged corporate travel, including flights, hotels and travel management for international clients such as Samsung, Toshiba and American Airlines.

It says it served more than 100,000 customers and booked over 35,000 hotel rooms.

The collapse adds to a difficult year for UK travel operators, several of which have also ceased trading or entered insolvency.

The impact on business customers is unclear, because corporate travel may not receive the same financial protection as consumer holiday packages.

What protection applies can depend on contracts, payment arrangements and insurance terms.

A liquidator was appointed on October 7, but no further steps for affected customers are specified.
