Affinity’s all-in-one design app launches on iPad for free
Canva has launched Affinity for iPad, bringing its design app to Apple’s tablet.
The app combines sketching, vector, photo and layout tools in one place, replacing separate Affinity apps for those tasks.
It is designed for touch and Apple Pencil, and Canva says it offers the same professional-level power as the Mac app.
Individuals can download it free from the App Store, as they can the desktop version.
This follows the unification of Affinity’s tools on Mac a year ago; the company says the desktop app has had more than seven million sign-ups since then.
The iPad app supports Apple Pencil Pro features and includes AI tools such as image expansion and upscaling.
Users can take a project from sketch to print-ready file on iPad, with no further launch plans stated.
Canva released Affinity for iPad on November 2, bringing its all-in-one design app to Apple’s tablet.
The app combines sketching, vector graphics, photo editing and page layout in one interface.
Its core tools are free for individual users, who need a free Canva account; AI tools require a paid Canva plan.
The iPad version adds Sketch Studio and supports Apple Pencil features including pressure, tilt, barrel roll, squeeze and hover.
Some desktop features are missing from the iPad app at launch, and Affinity says more features are planned.
