Flash floods in Henderson kill one person and prompt three rescues

Heavy rain and hail caused flash floods in Henderson, Nevada, on Friday.

Fire crews carried out three water rescues involving four people.

One person rescued from a wash went into cardiac arrest, was taken to hospital and died.

Two people were pulled from a vehicle swept off a road near Lake Las Vegas, and another person was rescued from the top of a stranded car.

Officials reported no injuries among the other three people.

The storm brought more than 1.5 inches of rain to some parts of the Las Vegas Valley, but did not set an official rainfall record.

More showers were possible on Halloween, though forecasters expected a lower chance of rain than on Friday.
