easyJet flight diverts to Liverpool after bird strike
An easyJet flight from Glasgow to Southampton diverted to Liverpool on Sunday after a bird strike.
The Airbus A319 declared a general emergency about 25 minutes after take-off, while flying over north-west England.
The plane landed safely at Liverpool John Lennon Airport shortly before 9.10am.
The crew reported engine vibration, and the diversion followed standard safety procedures.
A replacement aircraft is being arranged to take passengers onward to Southampton later that morning.
The diversion disrupted their journey, but easyJet said the safety of passengers and crew was its highest priority.
