Hammer smashes through car window on A6 near Heilbronn

A hammer apparently fell from a truck on the A6 near Heilbronn, Germany, and struck a passing car.

The car was travelling towards Mannheim on the Neckartal Bridge when the roughly 40-centimetre tool smashed through a side window.

A woman and two children were in the car, including a five-year-old and a one-year-old.

All three were unhurt, despite the hammer entering the passenger-side window.

The truck driver continued on without stopping, and police could not find the vehicle after searching.

Police recovered the hammer and are seeking witnesses who may have seen what happened.

Anyone with information can contact the Weinsberg traffic police.
