Minera Frisco’s gold and silver output rebounded in early 2026
Carlos Slim acquired Minera Frisco in 1986, after beginning to buy shares through Grupo Carso the year before.
The company operates mines in six Mexican states.
In 2025, it produced 57,360 ounces of gold, 55% less than in 2019.
Silver output also fell, from 5.05 million ounces in 2019 to 4.27 million in 2025.
But in the first half of 2026, gold production rose 40% and silver production rose 64% compared with the same period a year earlier.
The company linked the increase to more ore processed and higher metal concentration at several mines.
Minera Frisco reported revenue of 14.056 billion pesos in 2025, while its production accounted for a small share of Mexico’s national gold and silver totals.
Minera Frisco produced 38,319 ounces of gold in the first half of 2026, up 40% from the same period a year earlier.
Its silver output reached 3.33 million ounces, a 64% increase from the first half of 2025.
The company linked the rebound to processing more ore and to higher metal grades at several mining units.
By June 2026, Frisco had produced about 67% of its 2025 gold output and 78% of its 2025 silver output.
