Dhanush turns fan club into welfare organization

Actor Dhanush has renamed his fan club the Dhanush Welfare Organization.

The change was decided at a meeting of the group’s organizers in Coimbatore.

Organizers said the network covers 58 districts and that about 2,500 people attended the meeting.

They said the group wants to guide fans toward community welfare and social work.

The move comes as Dhanush is linked to possible political plans, but no official political announcement has been made.

Accounts differ on whether a party called Tamilaga Ezhuchi Kazhagam has been registered, so Dhanush’s political intentions remain unclear.
