Omoda X crossover revealed with electric and plug-in hybrid versions planned
Omoda has shown the near-final X crossover at an event in Wuhu, China.
The vehicle has a more rugged design than other Omoda models, with a focus on outdoor use rather than only city driving.
It is expected to be about 4.7 metres long and will use a new platform, but detailed mechanical specifications have not been announced.
The company says it will have 200 mm of ground clearance and can cross water more than 700 mm deep, alongside towing capacity of up to 1,800 kg.
Inside, it is planned to include digital screens, physical buttons, driver-assistance systems and a thermal imaging system that can detect potential hazards up to 90 metres away.
Omoda plans electric and plug-in hybrid versions, though their specifications are still to come.
Production is expected to start between late 2027 and early 2028, with a possible market launch in spring 2028; Italian prices and arrival timing are not yet known.
