Mexico arrests alleged La Línea leader sought by the US

Mexican forces arrested Sergio “N” in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, on Wednesday, October 28.

He is known as “El señor de la A” and is accused of leading La Línea in Rosales, another municipality in Chihuahua.

Authorities say La Línea is aligned with the New Juárez Cartel, and that Sergio “N” allegedly oversaw drug and people trafficking from Mexico to the United States.

They say he operated under the direct orders of his son, Sergio Pedro “N,” known as “Checo,” who is identified as a regional leader of La Línea.

The United States is seeking his extradition on drug-trafficking charges, and Mexico has issued a provisional arrest order for that purpose.

He was flown to Mexico City to appear before a federal judge, who will determine his legal status; another person arrested in the operation is being handled separately.
