Vasco beat Corinthians 3-2 in a late comeback in the 32nd round of Brazil’s Brasileirão on Saturday at São Januário in Rio de Janeiro.

The match was Clarence Seedorf’s first as Corinthians coach, after he took over from Fernando Diniz.

Vasco led 1-0, but Corinthians scored twice to go ahead before Marino Hinestroza scored two goals in the final minutes to turn the game around.

The defeat left Corinthians 17th with 33 points, in the league’s relegation zone and two points behind Internacional, the first team outside it.

Vasco rose to 13th with 38 points, while Corinthians had gone 10 matches without a win before this game.

Corinthians next host Mirassol on October 30, and Vasco are due to host Flamengo on October 29.
