Modern Warfare 4 ranks among Call of Duty’s best campaigns
Modern Warfare 4 is praised as one of Call of Duty’s best campaigns for its memorable missions and grounded tone.
One storyline follows Sierra-1, a unit of South Korean and US soldiers fighting a fictional North Korean invasion.
The other follows Captain John Price as he pursues a Russian defense minister after killing General Shepherd in the previous game.
The two plots take players from Hajin City to New York, Paris, Mumbai and North Korea, with Sierra-1 focused on survival and Price caught up in political schemes.
The campaign includes an EMP attack, a battle to retake a city and a mission in a New York nightclub.
Its focus on intense set pieces and improved stealth and hand-to-hand combat sets it apart from the previous year’s Black Ops 7, which the review describes as forgettable.
