Incheon Airport check-in disruption delays up to 38 flights

A network disruption slowed check-in at Incheon International Airport in South Korea on Oct.

30.

It began around 4:30 a.m.

and affected 13 airlines across both terminals.

China Southern, China Eastern and Air China were hit hardest, with ticketing operations effectively halted for a time.

Passengers faced long queues, and some check-ins had to be done manually.

About 1,200 passengers were left waiting, and reports put the number of delayed flights at 35 to 38.

The systems were restored around 5 p.m., though some travel schedules remained affected later in the day.

The airport said the disruption appeared linked to a fault in ARINC’s global aviation network; its full impact is still being assessed, and one report said officials had not confirmed whether hacking was involved.
