Indonesia U-15 loses 5-1 to France at FIFA tournament

Indonesia’s U-15 team lost 5-1 to France at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan.

France scored three times in the opening 13 minutes, then added two more goals as Indonesia managed one in reply.

Both teams had lost their previous quarter-finals in Tier C, a section covering teams placed 65th to 96th in the tournament.

The competition ranks 191 countries across six tiers, so this match was part of the lower-placing rounds rather than a title contest.

The defeat sends Indonesia to the 71st-72nd place final on Friday, October 30.

Indonesia will face Benin, while France meets Uganda in the match for 69th-70th place.
