Turin hospital invests €3.8 million in gynecological surgery
Turin’s Sant’Anna Hospital is upgrading gynecological surgery with an investment of about €3.8 million.
The project, promoted by the Medicina a Misura di Donna Foundation with support from two other foundations, includes a da Vinci Xi surgical robot, four 3D/4K laparoscopic systems and other equipment.
Digital systems will link operating rooms with university classrooms and a simulation centre.
The new technology is intended to expand minimally invasive treatment for complex cancerous and benign gynecological conditions.
This approach may help patients by reducing post-surgery pain, hospital stays and recovery times.
The project also trained 92 health professionals, strengthening the hospital’s clinical and teaching role in women’s health.
