INPS adds application process for mothers moving from disability allowance to pension
Italy’s INPS has opened a new application process for mothers moving from an ordinary disability allowance to an old-age pension.
It applies to women whose allowance was calculated entirely under the contributory system.
They can request a lower age requirement or a more favourable pension calculation under rules for mothers in that system.
The more favourable calculation can affect the pension amount.
These benefits are not automatic and must be requested, even if the allowance changes to a pension automatically.
Women can apply through the INPS website, a patronato assistance office or the INPS contact centre.
The new process lets eligible women submit their request as they approach the move to an old-age pension.
