Fulham and Newcastle draw 1-1 after late goals

Fulham and Newcastle drew 1-1 in a Premier League match at Craven Cottage in west London.

Newcastle took the lead late when Jacob Murphy scored in the 80th minute.

Fulham substitute Rodrigo Muniz equalised soon after, rescuing a point for the home side.

The draw came after Newcastle had lost four of their previous five matches, and coach Matthias Jaissle called his side’s defending for the equaliser “slapstick.”

Newcastle had chances to win, but missed opportunities and the late concession kept them from moving into the top half.

Both clubs remain in the bottom half of the table, and the result leaves questions about how their seasons will develop.

He got his chance. It is very important for us because I need a player like Rodrigo. He can score goals but create so many chances.
