Yasin Mohamed sentenced to probation in German rape case
A Munich court convicted reality-TV star Yasin Mohamed of rape and sentenced him to one year and eight months in prison, suspended on probation.
The court found that Mohamed raped fellow contestant Sophie Imelmann in a hotel in Greece after filming the dating show Love Island V.I.P. in 2024.
Imelmann told the court she had said several times that she did not want sex, while Mohamed denied acting against her wishes.
The judge said the court found he ignored her clear refusal.
The sentence was less than the prosecution had sought, and the court also ordered Mohamed to complete 200 hours of community service.
The verdict is not yet final, and Mohamed’s defence team has said it will appeal.
