Reliance Shares Jump 11.6% After Strong Quarterly Results

Reliance Industries shares rose 11.6% on Monday, their biggest one-day gain since April 2020.

The jump followed a record quarterly profit that beat analysts’ estimates, with strong results from its oil-to-chemicals business.

Reliance is one of India’s largest companies, and its results can influence the wider stock market.

Investors also value the company partly through its holdings in other businesses, including its 64.5% stake in Jio Platforms.

That stake is valued at ₹8.37 trillion, giving investors a clearer picture of part of Reliance’s worth after Jio’s listing.

The Nifty 50 gained 1.68%, while the Sensex rose 1.66%, as Reliance’s rally helped lift the benchmarks.

Reliance’s next results and any future changes to Jio’s average revenue per user could affect how investors value the shares.
