CBI arrests Satyendra Kumar after 25 years wanted in Bihar fodder scam

The CBI arrested Satyendra Kumar at Lucknow railway station after tracking him for more than 25 years.

Kumar was named in a charge sheet in 2001 in cases linked to the Bihar fodder scam, a corruption scandal involving fraudulent withdrawals from government funds.

The scam involved alleged withdrawals of about ₹950 crore from the treasury of undivided Bihar between 1992 and 1995, using fake bills for fodder, medicines and equipment.

Kumar, alleged by the CBI to be a supplier, had been living in Nepal and was declared an absconder after failing to appear in court.

Investigators traced him after he returned to India and travelled by train from Guna, Madhya Pradesh, to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

He is being taken to Ranchi on transit remand and is expected to be produced before a court to face trial.
