Colts Receive Fourth-Round Offer for Josh Downs
The Indianapolis Colts have received a trade offer for Josh Downs that includes at least a fourth-round draft pick.
Downs, a 25-year-old wide receiver in the final year of his contract, has asked to be traded, but the Colts say they will not move him just to grant that request.
He has recorded 771 receiving yards in his first season and 806 in his second, despite the Colts’ quarterback difficulties.
The team may wait until the trade deadline to see whether a better offer arrives.
The Colts are also open to trading Keenan Allen, a 34-year-old receiver, though no offer for him is specified.
A trade could give Downs a chance to join a team with a stronger quarterback situation, while Indianapolis would receive draft assets in return.
