ProSiebenSat.1 to end Teletext services in early 2027

ProSiebenSat.1 will end its Teletext services in early 2027.

The change affects viewers of its German channels, including ProSieben and Sat.1.

Teletext lets people use a TV remote to view short text pages with information such as programme listings, news and sports results.

The group had already removed news and sports information in 2025, leaving mainly programme details.

The company says viewer interest is close to zero, while its Joyn service has become an alternative for programme information.

Subtitles will still be available, but viewers will need to turn them on in their TV or receiver settings instead of using Teletext.
