South Korea apartment sales hit six-month high in October
South Korea recorded 18,521 private apartments for general sale in October, the most in six months.
The total was 60.3% higher than in September and 5.8% above October last year.
From January to October, sales reached 118,551 units, nearly matching the full-year total for last year.
More than 10,900 units were offered in the Seoul metropolitan area, mainly in Gyeonggi Province and Incheon, while Seoul had no new sales for a second month.
In Incheon, the average price of an 84-square-metre apartment rose above 800 million won for the first time.
The national average price for that size was about 719 million won, slightly lower than the month before.
The rise in Incheon may signal higher prices in other outer metropolitan areas, which housing analysts say will be worth watching.
