Rose West has emergency evacuation plan as health reportedly worsens

Rose West, 72, is reportedly in worsening health and can barely move without help.

She is held at HMP New Hall in West Yorkshire, a high-security prison.

West was jailed for life in 1995 for murdering 10 girls and women with her husband, Fred, at their home in Gloucester.

Fred died by suicide while awaiting trial in 1995.

Prison staff have reportedly made a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan because West may not be able to leave safely on her own during a fire or another emergency.

The plan sets out a safe route and assigns staff to help her, with equipment such as a wheelchair available if needed.

West is expected to remain in prison for life, and the Prison Service says she will spend the rest of her life behind bars.
