Brandon Aiyuk hires agent as he seeks an NFL return

Brandon Aiyuk has hired agent Drew Rosenhaus to help him return to the NFL after more than two years away from games.

The San Francisco 49ers receiver last played on Oct.

20, 2024, when he tore several ligaments and the meniscus in his right knee.

Aiyuk and the 49ers have been at odds over his rehabilitation and his failure to report to the team.

The team voided about $27 million in guaranteed money on his contract and placed him on a list for players who do not report.

Aiyuk must apply to the NFL for reinstatement before he can play again.

The 49ers would then decide what to do with his rights, but the team’s coach and general manager have said he has played his last snap for San Francisco.

A release appears more likely than a trade, though no decision has been announced.
