Food truck plunges 30 metres off road in Lodève; driver injured

A truck carrying food left the road in Lodève, in southern France, and fell about 30 metres.

The crash happened on the road to Bédarieux, and the truck rolled several times before stopping.

The 37-year-old driver climbed back to the road by himself after getting out of the cab.

He had several injuries and was taken to a hospital in Montpellier for treatment.

Gendarmes are investigating, and a brake failure is one possible cause being considered.

There was no fuel leak, and traffic was not affected at the scene.

The truck will be removed later, an operation that may require a temporary road closure.
