Ezhou airport has handled exports of 198 Chinese electric vehicles

Ezhou Huahu International Airport in Hubei province has handled the air export of 198 Chinese electric vehicles since the start of 2026.

The airport says it can fly vehicles directly to major hubs including Paris Charles de Gaulle and Miami.

Cars can be damaged during handling, so the airport uses a process that loads each vehicle onto its air-freight platform soon after arrival, avoiding extra moves.

It then keeps vehicles in a monitored storage area and checks their condition before they are taken to the aircraft.

The airport has a specialist certification for lithium battery air transport and says it can meet requirements for shipping complete electric vehicles.

Digital systems track vehicles and cargo operations and help identify potential problems.

The airport says it has supported exports for Chinese automakers including Geely, Chery, BYD and Changan.
