Aday Mara makes NBA debut as Thunder beat Spurs

Aday Mara made his NBA debut for Oklahoma City in a 116-104 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Spanish center played 12 minutes, scoring seven points and adding two rebounds, one assist and one block.

Mara blocked Victor Wembanyama at the rim, then finished an alley-oop dunk at the other end of the play.

Wembanyama had a difficult shooting night, making one of 13 attempts.

The debut came with Mara’s parents watching, and on his father’s birthday.

Mara said he felt he helped the team, and his teammates gave him the game ball as a keepsake.

The win gave the Thunder an early victory over the Spurs in their Western Conference matchup; the sources do not say what comes next for either team.
