Brandon Miller agrees to five-year, $209 million Hornets extension

The Charlotte Hornets agreed to a five-year, $209 million extension with forward Brandon Miller.

The deal is a rookie-scale extension, and it begins in the 2027-28 season after the final year of his current contract.

Miller was the second pick in the 2023 NBA draft and is entering his fourth season.

He averaged a career-best 20.2 points per game in 65 games last season, while Charlotte went 41-24 when he played and 3-14 when he did not.

The Hornets are giving him a bigger role after trading LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges.

Miller had surgery on his left shoulder in May, but has recovered and played in preseason.

The extension is official, and Miller is set to earn $15.1 million in 2026-27 before the new deal begins.
