Police identify man found dead at Ennepetalsperre

Police identified a 58-year-old man from Ennepetal whose body was found at the Ennepetalsperre in Breckerfeld, Germany.

He had been missing since leaving home on March 30, and police had issued a public search notice in April.

His car was found near the reservoir entrance, and search teams looked for him in the area.

They used a boat with sonar equipment, an underwater drone and search dogs before officially ending the search on April 21.

A cyclist found the body below the dam on September 1.

Police say there is no sign that another person was involved and believe his death was an accident.

They have withdrawn the public search notice; the reports give no further action planned.
