Driver arrested after high-speed police chase in Thurgau
A 38-year-old Swiss driver was arrested in Pfyn in the canton of Thurgau after a police pursuit overnight on Saturday.
Shortly after midnight, officers spotted his car speeding on the A7 motorway towards Kreuzlingen.
He ignored police signals, left the motorway at Kreuzlingen South and continued towards Schwaderloh at far above the speed limit.
Officers stopped him at the entrance to Pfyn after he drove through several villages; no one was reported injured.
Police judged him unfit to drive and took blood and urine samples.
He was also driving despite having lost his licence.
The Kreuzlingen prosecutor has opened a criminal investigation, and the man was detained.
