China Life says two insurance claims for injured delivery rider paid in three hours
A food delivery rider in Suzhou, China, broke a bone in a fall while making a delivery on April 12.
He had two insurance policies through China Life, including a plan for delivery workers called “Rider Protection.”
The insurer says it paid him a total of 6,500 yuan within three hours after collecting his claim documents and checking details with a medical provider.
Delivery workers, couriers, ride-hailing drivers and truck drivers often work on the move and face risks such as traffic accidents and injuries.

It says more than 8,000 claims under these products were paid in the first seven months of 2026, totaling over 270 million yuan.
The company says it will continue expanding insurance coverage, faster claims services and practical support for workers.
China Life said its insurance products for new forms of employment covered more than 34.49 million person-times in 2025.
The products are aimed at truck drivers, ride-hailing drivers, couriers and food-delivery riders, whom the article groups together as “two drivers and two workers.”
