Narvik drops 2027 women's Alpine Ski World Cup races

Narvik will not host women's World Cup races in March 2027.

The Norwegian town had been scheduled to hold a downhill and a super-G, two fast Alpine ski events.

Organizers withdrew over risks that the venue would not be ready in time, after assessing whether construction could be completed for the races.

Narvik is preparing to host the Alpine Ski World Championships in 2029, and organizers say they will focus resources on that event.

The FIS and Norway's ski federation are finding a replacement venue and say they will announce it soon.

Kvitfjell has been mentioned as a possible alternative, but no new location has been confirmed.
