Basel-Landschaft parliament delays BLKB inquiry report to May 2027
The Basel-Landschaft parliament approved a delay for an inquiry into the cantonal bank, Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (BLKB).
The inquiry’s final report is now due by the end of May 2027, instead of the end of 2026.
The committee is investigating events that led BLKB to write down about 105 million francs linked to its former subsidiary Radicant.
The write-down became public in summer 2025 and triggered political turmoil around the bank.
The committee says important documents arrived later than planned and it wants to examine an investigation by Switzerland’s financial regulator, FINMA.
When it can review that investigation remains unclear, while an initiative is also seeking tighter rules for BLKB and a stronger regional focus.
