Vannacci criticizes Meloni over arms spending and alliance stance

He said defence spending should match a real threat and argued that people in Milan face different concerns, including harassment, vandalism and gangs carrying knives.
Vannacci leads the Futuro nazionale party and was in Milan with its mayoral candidate, Carmelo Burgio.
His comments came as Giorgia Meloni appears to rule out an alliance with his party.
Vannacci said Meloni’s stance could benefit the political left, and criticized her claim that he votes with left-wing parties.
He also said he is focused on advancing his political ideas, and no next step on an alliance was stated.

What people are saying
Any defence system must be commensurate with a real threat.
If we ask Milan residents what the real threat is, they certainly will not point to Cossacks coming from the Russian steppe, but probably to molesters, people smashing shop windows, and youth gangs going around with knives in their pockets.
The prime minister says that I vote with the left, then categorically rules out an alliance with my party, effectively favouring the left.
I am not talking about alliances; I do not care about them.
