Dune: Part Three sets BFI IMAX first-day presales record

Dune: Part Three set a first-day presales record at BFI IMAX, the UK’s largest screen.

The film sold £880,000 in advance tickets there, beating the £750,000 record set by Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

The new film is the third entry in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune series and stars Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides.

It is based on Dune Messiah and takes place 17 years after Paul seized control of the Imperium.

The story follows Paul as he faces the consequences of his rule, with old allies returning and new threats emerging.

The record signals strong early demand for the film before its cinema release.

BFI IMAX previews begin on December 15, with the film opening in cinemas on December 18.
