Extremadura boosts security for November strike and elections
Extremadura will reinforce security for a general strike on 11 November and general elections on 29 November.
The region’s government delegate, María Teresa Macías, said the aim is to let both events proceed normally while protecting the rights to strike and vote.
The National Police and Civil Guard will increase their services, working with local police and regional and municipal authorities.
Strike calls have been submitted in Badajoz, Cáceres, Mérida and Plasencia, where some organisations have notified plans for gatherings or marches.
Officials are identifying possible trouble spots and planning how to deploy officers, while keeping access to hospitals and other key facilities clear.
