Avolon Orders 140 Boeing 737-10 Jets
Avolon finalized an order for 140 Boeing 737-10 jets, a record 737 MAX purchase by an aircraft lessor.
Avolon, an Irish aircraft leasing company, will add the planes to its fleet commitments for leasing to airlines.
The 737-10 is the largest version of Boeing's single-aisle 737 MAX family, and Avolon's total backlog of 737 MAX aircraft now exceeds 240.
The FAA approved the 737-10 in October, after a long certification process that had left customers waiting.
Lessors have placed firm orders for more than 230 of the model in 2026, five times the amount on their books at the end of 2025.
The deal adds to demand for larger single-aisle jets, which airlines use on a range of routes and which lessors can offer to customers seeking to expand or renew fleets.
Avolon says the order will support airline growth and fleet renewal into the next decade.
