Actor Simon Ehrlacher wins European Brazilian jiu-jitsu title

French actor Simon Ehrlacher won a European Brazilian jiu-jitsu title at a competition in Rome, Italy.

He is known for television roles including the doctor Romain Vidal in Plus belle la vie and Abel Azoury in Cat’s Eyes.

Ehrlacher also teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu at a Paris club, the Cube Fight Club, and has a black belt.

The sport became a major part of his life during a seven-year break from acting, when he took other jobs and focused on martial arts.

Returning to Plus belle la vie in 2021 helped him rediscover his enjoyment of acting, and he later appeared in several other series.

His latest win adds a European title to his sporting career; no next competition is specified.
