Reddit adds separate For You and Following feeds
Reddit is changing its main feed for users around the world.
It is adding two options: For You and Following.
For You mixes posts from communities a user has joined with recommendations chosen by an algorithm.
Following shows only posts from joined communities.
Reddit says the recommendation feed should help people find relevant communities and conversations they might otherwise miss.
The change gives users a choice between broader recommendations and a more focused feed, amid some user frustration with recent changes to Reddit’s design.
The new feeds are rolling out over the next few weeks, and Reddit says it will keep experimenting with ways to help people explore the platform.
Reddit is splitting its main feed into “For You” and “Following” options.
“For You” combines posts from communities users have joined with algorithmic recommendations tailored to their interests.
“Following” shows only posts from communities users have joined.
The new feeds are rolling out to users worldwide over the next few weeks.
Users can switch between feeds, and Reddit says the app will reopen to the feed they last viewed.
