Prairie Provident’s Lenders Seek Creditor-Led Court Proceedings

Prairie Provident Resources’ senior lenders have applied to start creditor-led proceedings under Canada’s Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.

The application also covers the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Prairie Provident Resources Canada Ltd.

The case is before Alberta’s Court of King’s Bench in Calgary.

The court hearing is scheduled for Oct.

27, 2026, at 10 a.m.

Calgary time.

The proceedings depend on the court granting an initial order requested by the lenders.

If granted, the order would appoint Alvarez & Marsal Canada as monitor of Prairie Provident.

The monitor would have enhanced powers, including broad authority to manage the company.
