Police seek woman after attempted abduction at West Ham Tube station

British Transport Police are investigating an attempted abduction at West Ham Underground station in east London.

Around 8.30pm on October 15, a woman approached a seven-year-old girl who was there with her father.

The woman said she wanted to grab the girl and tried to hold her hand, but the father and daughter got away.

The woman then told bystanders that the father was kidnapping the girl before fleeing the station.

Police have released CCTV images of a woman they want to speak to as part of their investigation.

Detectives are asking anyone who recognises her to contact police, by texting 61016 with reference 108 of 16 October; information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers.
