Brad Paisley says Russian bots drove backlash to his Ukraine song

Brad Paisley says Russian bots helped drive online attacks on his song “Same Here,” which supports Ukraine.

He said online reaction shifted from 98 percent positive to 90 percent negative, based on tracking by his team and Ukrainian counterparts.

Paisley wrote the song with Lee Thomas Miller and Taylor Goldsmith after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.

The song celebrates similarities between people in different countries and includes a recording of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky speaking with Paisley.

Paisley has continued to support Ukraine and became an ambassador for the United24 charity.

He says the backlash did not bother him, and the sources describe no further action planned.
