The Macallan launches Carta Nautica whisky at Singapore's Changi Airport
The Macallan launched its Carta Nautica whisky collection with Lotte Duty Free Singapore at Changi Airport.
The airport has exclusive access to the collection’s 20-year-old travel retail edition until 18 October, before it rolls out at selected airports worldwide from 19 October.
The collection follows the journey of oak casks from North America to Jerez de la Frontera in Spain and then to Scotland.
Its whiskies begin ageing in sherry-seasoned casks from Spain, then move to casks that previously held North American bourbon.
The launch also showcases Carta Nautica Distilled in 1987, a separate whisky matured for 38 years and the first in a new series of vintage releases.
The airport is running themed displays and interactive activities in Terminal 3 for two months, then in Terminal 2 for a further two months, helping travellers explore how the cask journey shapes the whisky.
The Macallan partnered with Lotte Duty Free Singapore to launch its Carta Nautica 20 Years Old whisky at Singapore Changi Airport.
The expression is exclusive to Changi until 18 October, before a wider rollout at selected airports from 19 October.
The collection draws on the transatlantic journey of the whisky’s oak casks from North America through Spain to Scotland.
The 20 Years Old whisky is bottled at 42% alcohol by volume.
The launch also showcases The Macallan Carta Nautica Distilled in 1987, a 38-year-matured single malt.
