BRP replaces Navjot Kaur Sidhu as its Punjab chief, citing health

The Bharatiya Rashtrawadi Party removed Navjot Kaur Sidhu from her party roles, including national general secretary and Punjab in-charge.

The party said on October 15 that it acted because of her current health and personal well-being.

Sidhu joined the party in April 2026 after leaving Congress.

The party said it values her experience and guidance, and that her connection with the organization will remain important.

It appointed national vice-president Sukhwinderpal Singh Grewal as the new Punjab in-charge.

The change comes ahead of Punjab's 2027 assembly election, and the party says it plans to contest all 117 seats in the state.

It says it wants to strengthen its organization and build a credible political alternative in Punjab.
