Singapore to unify community mental health services under HealthierMind SG
Singapore will bring community mental health services together under HealthierMind SG, a new framework announced by Health Minister Ong Ye Kung.
The network will cover services for people with different levels of need, including young people, and bring their funding and performance requirements under one system.
The change aims to make support easier to navigate and improve coordination among providers that now work under separate schemes.
More stable funding is intended to help community organisations retain staff and build their ability to provide care.
Schools may be able to refer less severe cases to community organisations, while people with greater needs can be assessed for suitable support.
The Health Ministry, the Agency for Integrated Care and community organisations will work on the transition in the coming months.
Grow Well SG will reach Secondary 1 and 2 students from 2027, starting in 20 schools before expanding to all secondary schools in 2028, with more focus on mental resilience.
