Shikhar Mohan called up to India A for final two New Zealand A matches

Jharkhand opener Shikhar Mohan has earned his first India A call-up for the final two four-day matches against New Zealand A. The 21-year-old will join the squad after its first match, while KL Rahul is set to play only that opening game.

Rahul is unavailable for the last two matches because he is in India’s ODI squad for the opening three games against New Zealand.

Mohan has scored centuries in both of Jharkhand’s opening matches in this Ranji Trophy season.

He also made two half-centuries in the Duleep Trophy final and scored 60 for Rest of India in the Irani Cup.

His recent domestic form has earned him a chance at a higher level as India A prepares for its series against New Zealand A. Mohan will compete with Sai Sudharsan for an opening spot, with Yashasvi Jaiswal expected to open in the team’s final two matches.
